Day 30 + 2

I completed the 30 days and I would say with moderate success.  Its been eye-opening and a little challenging (trying to keep in that point range) but progress was made.  There was a week or two there where I gained weight and thanks to the tracking features I was able to identify what went wrong and correct it for the next week. 

Even if I went over points (which I did every day including my anytime points for the week) my activity points increase each week...or at least I try to increase them each week.  I think that's going pretty well.  Waking up in the morning has been getting easier and being prepared (clothes set out, food plans, grocery shopping done, etc) really helps.

Therefore, I am continuing on with the WW and points plan for a little while longer.  Maybe another 30 days, maybe 60...we'll see.

Day 23 - Weigh In

Monday's are my weigh in days and I was not looking forward to that this morning.  As of Friday I was already -5 points for the day and I still hadn't eaten dinner.  Plus, I was going out of town for the weekend (for a wedding) so I knew that I would be consuming more food and accumulating less activity points.

Here is how my AP have been going:
  • Week 1 - 12 (swapped:  12)
  • Week 2 - 26 (good!  double from the last week.  Swapped:  26)
  • Week 3 - 7 (swapped:  7)
Week two was the only week I've lost weight and its obviously because of the APs and I was eating more soup that week (I think that really helps). 

This is my 4th week; getting close to the end of my 30 pass.

Day 19..Keep on Keeping on

I do not have as many Activity points as I did last week.  A little disappointing, but I am going to get as many as I can before the week resets on Monday.

I found that I have my best point days when (I get to the gym and) when I eat the Zero points soup.  This week I didn't get a chance to make it and I can see the difference in the points tracking.

Its Thursday and I still have a few anytime points.  Cool! 

I confess, I see points and I see how many beers I can have.  On more than one day (of these 30 days) I have consumed a days work of points on beer and jiggers of vodka.  Depressing. 

But I keep on keeping on and am hoping for another loss on my weigh in day, Monday.

Day 12 - Getting better...

I'm out of anytime points for the week and am starting to dip into the activity points. Not great, but the points are being used more slowly this week and I would say that's an improvement! 

Also, I know I'm going to blow last week's (12) activity points out of the water.  I already have 11 for this week.  That's also an improvement.

I'm getting better at portion sizes and to just stop eating when I'm full.

Its day 12 and I'd say things are looking up!

Day 9 - New week

One whole week finished!  Not as many activity Points as I had wanted, used all my anytime points, plus 20 in the hole.  That's pretty bad. 

At first I was feeling pretty poorly about myself.  I was obviously eating too much (and drinking too much).  Towards the end of the week though, I was thinking that this was a week of realization.  Next week I can do better.  Get more activity points, don't use all my anytime points in a single day, don't eat double points every day.  Anything would be an improvement as far as I can see.

The scale was friendly at my weigh in.  1.2 lbs gone!

I have a tip:  If you plan to splurge on Chinese food, plan on splurging for two days.  There are always leftovers!

Day 6 - Gettin on track

I'm feeling pretty good about my progress.  I've been more responsible about how I use my points.  Using the WW App on my iPhone is really keeping me in check.  I carry my phone everywhere so I can update before, during, or after I eat (or drink) anything. 

I wasn't able to get any activity points for the past couple days but I am back on track today and making progress and getting some of those anytime points back.  I'm not sure if I can get them all back before the end of this week but I know I'm doing better.

In other progress, I went shopping and picked up some foods that I wouldn't normally eat but I know is good for me and doesn't kill me in points (like yogurt).  Also, I made a pot of Zero point soup that I can eat when I get hungry but am getting close to the end of all my points during the day or even as part of lunch. 

Remember in the '70s if you wanted to lose a couple pounds, you ate yogurt for breakfast and soup & salads for lunch? The idea of eating less, exercising more isn't really new at all. 

Its the practice of the 'program' and consistency with my workouts that really needs my focus.

Day 4 - realization

I see where all my points are going and I'm not proud.  My meals are good, I can get my activity points but it all goes to *heck when I get home at night.  Jiggers of vodka, ice cream cones, and sitting in front of the TV.  I get tired as the day goes and the points show it.  I gotta change my habits and get in control.  Maybe going to a meeting at night would help.

In AA they say go to a meeting when you want to drink--when I want to sit around and eat maybe I should find a WW meeting. (note: see if there are any AAers or people who like to drink on WW).  Because really, its kinda the same isn't it?  Out of control behavior that isn't good for your health.  OH GOD what if while I'm on WW I find out I am an alcoholic?  Naw, I don't think so...although denial is the first sign.  LOL

I'm embarrassed to admit that here it is, day 4, and I'm already 1.5 points in the hole.  Worse--my sinuses are kicking my butt and making my head hurt so I didn't go to the gym this morning.  I cannot be the only person out there that has been through this realization when they first get on WW.

Good news!  New day, new points!

Day 3

Got myself out of bed and went to the gym this morning instead of pushing snooze for 45 minutes.  Gotta get up and going before my brain realizes what's happening.  Otherwise it might try to talk me out of it.  Three activity points earned!

Packed my lunch then stopped at the store on the way into work.  I picked up some WW lemon cream cakes and something for breakfast for the next couple days.

Day 2

Holy cow!  I did not expect Ramen noodles to have so many points!  Even with the vegetables I added.  I will not be eating that for breakfast again!  As I am adding the points I see where the points are going.  Jiggers of vodka!  Gotta plan that better....

Is it common to discover you are eating two days worth of food in one day?  No wonder Wii tells me I'm overweight.

I got two activity points doing push-ups (50!) and strength training.

(Note to self:  buy sugar free Italian Ice)

WW 30 day pass.  Lets see what I can do in 30 days following WW and the points system.  I'm trying to find the best workout in 30 minutes that has the most points.  I was disappointed to find that playing on the Wii has very low points for the amount of time you have to play.
