Back in control

Saturday, May 05, 2012

I was MIA for awhile - just could not follow the plan. Had vacation with company and although we did a lot of activities - we also ate almost every meal out. This past week I was back on the plan and at this point I am only up about 1 pound from where I left off a few weeks back. Moving forward now and feeling reenergized!!!!!!!
Today is all about me day. I have warned my family to not plan my time- no driving all over town, no making meals or looking for lost items, no last minute laundry!!!! My kids are almost fifteen - so I knew they can survive one day.
I am getting a facial, going to the gym, coloring my hair and watching lifetime movies!!!!(while doing my hula hoop)
Happy Early Mom's Day to me!!!

23.8 pounds and counting//////I am in a slump!!!!

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I have to admit ------ I am BORED with dieting and exercising!!!!!!
I try to look at it as a life choice where I can eat whatever I want within reason and point value- but I have reached the point where I want to just feed my face and watch tv!!!!
I am trying to get outside and keep moving, trying new foods and having a better attitude about the process! It helps to complain about this --- it helps a lot to complain!!!
So - I am going to move forward with a somewhat positive attitude , keep up the hula hoop plus gym time and try to be creative with my food choices!!!
How do others get over their slump???????

Aye, but the Wii system does not account for 3 lb body hoop, so there would be more pts. Body hooping is said to burn more calories than running on a treadmill.

Saturday march 24

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Lost a total of 21.2 pounds---very excited!!!
Even made a batch of chocolate chip cookies this morning and did not nibble on the batter or have a cookie!!!! The only bad thing about the lower numbers is that the daily points go down too. So I need to adjust a few things and increase my activity. I am planning to do at least 20 minutes of the hula hoop per day -more when I can fit it in- but I also want to do more walking and gym time. I will be working on finding a good balance for my busy life style without sacrificing exercise but being happy about the exercise plan.
I would love to hear how others balance their exercises and life!!!

Hi That is a great form of exercise. Look through the activity list to see what closely matches stair climbing. Maybe walking up hill or the elliptical machine?

Happy St Patricks Day/ teenagers

Saturday, March 17, 2012

I am down 18.4 pounds and very excited about my progress. I have to be honest- I have not been doing the hula hoop everyday - I have been alternating between the elliptical at the gym, walking outside, weights and the hula hoop. I think a more well rounded routine will keep me on track and keep up my interest level. I had a very good week with my points and exercise---I know I have a ways to go but the little steps are building up. My daughter starts the track team on Monday. Should be interesting as she complains after 5 minutes at the gym. I am hoping that the social aspect will improve her attitude- but at 14 I think she will make it all about the social aspect. This is fie w me as long as she puts in some fort -she may find that she really enjoys it--I never played sports or did much intheway of exercise when in high school and I think that has made me into an adult who tries to stay away from exercise. I think now kids are introduced in sports and exercise at an earlier time in their lives and it just becomes part of them.
Would love to hear from others with teens!!!!

Thanks for the feedback!!! I am looking forward to high school sports for both my son- who plays baseball and my daughter with track. They are twins and just about as opposite as you can get. My son takes school and sports very seriously - my daughter takes school and sports as an extension of her social life!!!!

March 10/ the revolution

Saturday, March 10, 2012

I have lost a total of 15.4 pounds so far on the WW plan. I am working to make this a life style not just a weight loss program. Life happens and I need to keep moving forward. I have found that blasting dance music is far more motivating then watching tv while hula hooping. Still can't do any fancy moves- keeping it going round and round is what I can do. I have been very motivated by "the revolution" tv show that shows 1 person over the course of the week that is actually a five month journey. I am so impressed on how great the people look in just five months. The people seem to be "real" people who have to deal with daily life- work, families, finding time, eating out. Five months is not an eternity - for me five months will bring me to June 15. Just in time for summer.

March 3----determined and confident

Saturday, March 03, 2012

I lost all but 1.8 pounds of the 5 pound weight gain from vacation. Feeling motivated even w the set back as I figure I could have gained a lot more and eaten twice as much junk if I was not thinking WW in the back of my mind. Back to hula hooping, walking dog and getting to the gym. Life happens and I need to go with it. I am still only able to stand in one place -no turns or tricks. I would love to hear from others who have been able to get to the next level with their hoops.

I figured out that every 12 1/2 minutes is about 1 activity point. I have been doing 35 minutes per day.

February 27---where did the time go?

Monday, February 27, 2012

I was away on a family vacation- did a lot of walking but also drank a lot of champagne.Back on WW as of yesterday- gained about 5 pounds. But that is ok!!! I am moving forward with increased determination. Doing 30 minutes a day of the hula hoop plus walking my dog. I also am forcing - yes forcing- my daughter to join the school track team so we will start to do a lot of walk/run intervals.

Monday 2/13

Monday, February 13, 2012

Lost a total of 11.2 pounds at my weigh in this past Friday. Between the food tracking and hula hooping I am keeping myself honest!!!!
We went out to dinner on Friday night- I had not yet used any of my extra points - but I made smart choices and drank a lot of seltzer....

Trying to learn some new moves with the hoop- not easy but fun to try!!!!
Busy week ahead so I need to stay motivated!!!!

Research on hula hooping

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

I googled hula hoop and found numerous sites and on line videas. There were some very good ones on U-tube. So check this out to see what best meets your needs. It looked there was something for everyone---basic to advanced with tricks. So I will stick with the basics for awhile and then sometime down the road will try some tricks. I will NOT post myself on utube!!!!!!!

I am going to try the key lime pie yogurt from WW - thanks for the recommendation. I will let you know if it tasted like a real dessert!!!!!
