Five Things I Never Knew I Was Missing

"Tell us 5 things you never knew you were missing before you lost all this weight!!:

Thank you so very much BRODSKY57,
I was wondering what I should write about to mark my first full year with Weight Watchers.
On September 15 2008 I joined and weighed 413 pounds. Here it is one year later and I have managed to lose a little more than 136 pounds. By making this request you have provided me with the perfect subject to discuss while marking this important anniversary.

~Five Things I Never Knew I Was Missing~

1.
To wear shoes with shoe laces. I could not touch my feet before so I could not tie a shoe. For years I had worn slip on shoes that had no type of closure. I had not worn socks in years because I could not put them on without help from someone else.
LOL I have a vast wardrobe of shoes with shoelaces now! I buy colorful shoelaces bright oranges and pinks. You never saw someone as proud of shoe laces as me!

2.
I am now able to wear clothing from regular stores. For years I had to hunt for size 6X, and I was wondering where in the world I was going to find a 7X because I was still gaining. Many times I wore clothing from BIG MENS shops. Now I can buy WOMENS clothes, in normal WOMENS sizes. I am working on filling every closet & drawer in my house.

3.
To feel a breeze against my face and through my hair. Not from some random wind but from the force my own running can cause.

4.
Making new Friends every day and enjoying being social. No longer have to turn down invites. I can fit in chairs without crushing them. I can walk without canes, walkers, wheelchairs, or pain.

5.
An improved Self Worth knowing that I can set a goal and meet that goal and then set another. To realize I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to. Life is full of hope, and many successes await me.

Join me in celebrating my first year as a loyal Weight Watcher.
Enjoy a visit to my Website, the link is here below, don't forget to sign the guestbook!

Thank you for being a part of my victory

Post Image "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Enthusiasm must be encouraged, beginning in earliest childhood. Give the crawling baby space to explore, it is a crime against nature to squelch that curiosity, that eagerness to learn about the world.

Mothers who dream of their children growing up to do great things must give those children the freedom to develop their powers. If parents use their own God-given intelligence. they can provide a child with both room to grow and a reasonable degree of safety.

Aware parents may also meet with their children's teachers. Look first for enthusiasm in teacher; everything follows from that.

It is equally important to show enthusiasm at home. There is endless beauty and mystery to share with a child, to marvel at and explore together.

FOR TODAY: Enthusiasm is contagious. It is a gift I give to everyone around me, especially children.

I shared the same philosophy as you when it comes to rearing children. They grew up to be strong and determined. It isn't always easy to teach self empowerment but it sure pays off in the long run.
