Last week I wrote about these fabulous grilled chicken nuggets that I recently discovered. Whereas most of the kids I’ve offered them to gobbled them up in minutes, a few days ago I was faced with a challenge: the queen bee of picky eaters.
I tried every thing I could to get her to take a bite. Nothing worked. And I mean nothing. Then I decided to make up a little lie. I told her that McDonald’s makes them to sell in grocery stores.
So why are they missing the outside, she wanted to know?
They had to leave off the breading so that they did not look like McNuggets or the restaurants would get angry that the supermarkets were stealing their business, I replied.
She thought for a second and then dug right in. Oh my, the power of the Golden Arches.
Can tricking kids to eat healthier foods actually be this easy? Have you ever pulled something like this with your kids? Please share your stories!
