LaraBar? Yes, please!

Ever since The Biggest Loser's, Jillian, mentioned the "LaraBar" a few weeks ago, I have wanted to try one.  If Jillian endorses a food product, I pay attention and will usually check it out.  Unlike Bob, she's in very few of the "in show" commercials.  As a family, we do pay attention to labels and have been making more of an effort to avoid ingredients we don't recognize.  Since we love to hike, healthy, portable food is a must.

On Mother's Day (before heading to the "jean bar" I told you guys about), I stopped off at the grocery store to pick up a snack.  I grabbed some packaged turkey, strawberries and a LaraBar.  The ingredients listed on the package were short and sweet.  No weird names, no "artificial blah blah", no high fructose junk.... just real food!  That little bar cost me 4 points but it was so good!  What was even better was how good I felt about eating that over my usual MilkyWay Midnight Bar.  I had another one today for "dessert".  It had six grams of fiber in it - wow!  The overall fat content is high (because of the nuts) but it's mostly those good fats our body needs anyway.  As an added bonus, they are gluten free!

I'm not saying these have cured me off the MilkyWay, but I did choose the LaraBar twice now.

I have been wondering about those. Thanks for the tip. I will try one this weekend. Not sure about the 4 points - that seems like a lot when I am now down to 19 daily. Hmmmmmm??

I am too but I've watched the show long enough to tell that she won't endorse just anything (Bob does most of the "commercials" for product during the show). Most of what she endorses is organic or good for the environment.

I wonder if our shops carry those... I'll have to find out! Thanks for the heads up, I'm more skeptical of endorsements. XD
