Stuffed Green Peppers

My stuffed green pepper recipe, that I made last night.

1 lb lean ground beef (I use 91% lean from Costco)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (15-16oz) Tomato Sauce
1.25 cups water
1 cup Minute white rice
2 large green peppers
spices: I used garlic salt, pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes

(1) Brown meat with chopped onion in large skillet on medium heat. Stir 1 cup of the tomato sauce, 1 cup of the water and spices. (I don't measure spices, just use to taste). Bring to boil, stir in rice and cover. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes.

(2) Meanwhile, preheat over to 400 degree's. Cut peppers in half and remove seeds/membane. You do not need to pre cook the peppers..they will cook in oven. Mix remaining sauce and remaining 1/4 cup water in bottom of 9x9 baking dish. Place peppers in baking dish. Spoon meat mixture into peppers (they will be stuffed/overflowing). Cover with foil.

(3) Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until peppers are tender.Spoon sauce from bottom on dish over peppers just before serving.

The NI is 334 calories/ 10.1 fat/ 34.2 carbs/ 27.3 protien/ 2.6 fiber

The recipe builder will probably give you lower points since onion and green peppers are zero points but all their NI is included here.
