It's Like Throwing a Deck Chair Off the Titanic

In week 3, I set an activity point goal of 24 (+1 from week 2). I made it and exceeded it by 3! Amazing! Too bad it didn't pay off on the scale. I was certain that I would be down at least 1.5-2, not 1...the dreaded 1. To me, 1 is what happens when you half-heartedly try. Guess what? I tracked everything, every food, every exercise, every recipe, healthy checks...check! I was on such a high this week meeting my AP goal and actually running for the first time in 5 years. With so much weight to lose, I was pretty sure pushing myself to work out harder would knock off a few after a 1 pound loss the week before. So that leaves me with 6.5 lb loss week 1, 1 lb loss week 2, 1 lb loss week 3. At this rate, I can kiss trying for baby number two goodbye until the Fall. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the scale is going down, but a 1 lb weight loss just feels like throwing a deck chair off the Titanic.

Keep telling yourself it is a loss and with more activity you are building muscle and everything is changing! I had a similar week last week, crazy amount of AP, on track with points, etc. Was expecting a nice big number... I got one all right.. it was a gain. :( .1 lbs up, I know it isn't much but it hurt, but then I looked at myself and I could kind of see the changes the exercises did and trying not to get discouraged! Keep up the great work and the results will come!

You lost a lot your first week. Once your body adjusts to that you will begin losing again. Don't get discouraged!

1 lb might not feel like much, but go into your fridge and pick up 4 sticks of butter ... every little bit counts and gets you closer to your goal! Keep up the good work :)
