Help - What do you eat for breakfast?

Written by bkrzyston on 2/18/2011 8:26 PM | COMMENTS (17)

Breakfast is really important for me. When I do not eat the right stuff for breakfast, I end up munching all day. For breakfast every day I use about 4-6 pointsplus. I eat refridgerated egg whites! I vary them to avoid boredom, but I'm bored! I eat them with cheese and salsa, with mushrooms and spinach, in a tortilla, on bread as sandwich, etc... There are some days lately I just don't want egg whites. Sometimes, I think I just don't want to cook them. I've tried some cereals, oatmeal, but can't find a good (filling) substitute for my egg whites and one piece of bread.

Please, share with me aome of your favorite, filling breakfast ideas.

Chobani plain yogurt (3 pts for 8 oz. vs 4 for the Vanilla), add vanilla extract, 1 splenda. Then add fruit - either bananas, blueberry, raspberry, grapes... whatever I am in the mood for. 3 total Point Plus and yummy and filling.

I usually eat a 4 egg white omlet.. sometimes 5 or 6. I fill it with 5 slices of oscar mayer deli turkey and 2 tbsp. shredded 2% cheddar. It's filling for a couple of hours, but I usually eat an apple in between breakfast & lunch.. then another between lunch & dinner.. and sometimes another after dinner. I think the fiber helps me stay semi-full feeling, but I'm almost always hungry.

add turkey bacon, or make a turkey BLT on english muffin. oatmeal w/ blueberries and strawberries. But I'm also big on egg whites, and rarely get tired of it.

I usually eat multigrain cheerios with half a banana cut up in it, then later in the morning I have some peanut butter on wheat bread with the other half of banana.

These ideas are great!!! I love variety. Right now I have 1/2 c. oatmeal with fruit and water. Keep it simple. For mid-day, though-I go for a yogurt parfait with 1c. ff yogurt, 1/4 frozen fruit medley thawed and 1/4 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch. Having a routine like that Monday-Friday has me totally satisfied during work days. On weekends, I like egg and toast with an orange for breakfast.

I have been back on WW for 4 weeks and have had the same cinammon oatmeal and a orange and yet to get tired of it. One of my fav low pp breakfast are the Jimmy Dean breakfast muffin with either turkey sausage or canadian bacon with cheese and egg whites. Have you tried that one?

My breakfast usually looks like: 1 tsp healthy oil, 3 osz lean protein servs,, 1 dairy serv, 1-2 fruit servs, 1-2 healthy complex carb servs, and sometimes a veggie (added to eggs). I get a lot of my GHGs in my breakfast and lunch.

My fav breakfast is pretty big; 1/2 cup dry oatmeal cooked in 1 cup organic lactose free milk; with frozen fruit and spices added; 1/2 cup eggbeaters with 1 0z lean meat or an omega 3 egg added. To the egg mix I add chopped onions, pico de gallo, 1 tsp extra vrgin olive oil. About 12 ish pts. On days I don't eat oatmeal with my eggs I have one or two pieces of double fiber wholewheat bread with smart balance light spread/flax or sm. balance peanutbutter (1 T). & Yogurt

My favorite breadfasts include french toast made with 2 slices of whole wheat bread, 1/3 cup egg beaters(1 pp), and I love cinamon so I add that. Fried with Pam and 2 Tblsp of Lite syrup (2pp). My other favorite is the Weight Watchers smoothie made with 1cup of skim milk and 1cup of frozen fruit (mixed fruit, strawberries, blueberries, banana, whatever). It is filling, satisfies my sweet tooth, and is quick, easy and portable.

My breakfast is 1/2 cup oats with 1 cup skim milk and mix in some cinnamon and splenda. Then add as many blueberries and bananas as you want. Sometimes I add 1 pp worth of chopped almonds. Without the almonds its about 6 IIRC but its bunches of super foods and very filling.

I've been eating a Smucker's peanut butter and jelly sandwich (the frozen kind you defrost). It is 5 points for the2 oz size. It satisifies on several levels - plus I can eat it standing up taking roll in my classroom.

I never have time to make myself breakfast (I'd rather sleep an extra 15 minutes..) so I have a FiberOne bar with a piece of fruit every morning -- 4 points for my favorite kind, Oats & Chocolate, plus 1 point for my black coffee with 1/4 cup of skim milk and 1 Splenda, and then 0 points for a banana or apple. That + a big bottle of water always feels like it's a good start to the day! Hope that helps :)

I like a bowl of Quaker Oatmeal (not the instant kind) cooked with cinnamon. I add splenda and a tbs of evaporated milk ( it gives is a sweet creamy texture). With that I sautee some onion and add a 30z can of tuna (drained, salt and pepper to taste) with 1 egg white. To drink I normally would have a cup of coffee sweetened with Splenda or whatever sugar sub you like and a sugar free drink mix to fill me up. That would normally last me from 8 to about 11

5 days a week I eat Kashi Granola mixed with Yoplait light yogurt and some type of fruit. It is 7 points for 3/4 cup of granola and a 6 oz yogurt. It tastes great, keeps me full until lunch, and the flavor can be varied by the yogurt and fruit to your taste. Hope that helps!
