IHOP Harvest Grain and Nut Pancakes

Last night I allowed myself a favorite food - IHOP Harvest Grain and Nut Blueberry Pancakes.

Now IHOP used to be a total disaster zone for me! I could easily spend a whole day's points or more, in exchange for very few actual nutrients my body needed! But things are changing as I embrace my new lifestyle.

First of all - I don't go there often. When I do, I can sometimes actually order grilled fish and veggies, and enjoy them.

Last night I ordered from the Simple and Fit menu items. I had two Harvest Grain and Nut blueberry pancakes with sliced banana and a serving of Egg Beaters. That's the actual Simple and Fit menu item. I had them add an extra serving of the banana . . . which gave me the equivalent of a whole banana. I had them add a 1/2 cup of blueberry compote. That was the part I was a little nervous about.

Here's how it all worked out:
2 Harvest Grain and Nut Blueberry pancakes: 10 points
1 banana - 0 points
Egg beaters (half cup maybe uncooked) - 1 point
1/2 cup of blueberry compote - 4 points

This was a treat meal. I do not intend to do it often. It was a meal that fit into my plan, and was enjoyable - although next time I will get real eggs. I've been eating the real thing lately - and did not particularly enjoy the Eggbeaters.

I was feeling quite pleased with myself - as I had done a 4 mile Leslie Sansone walking video in the morning - and also worked for an hour with my personal trainer in the deep water of the pool for an hour. I NEVER thought I would work with a personal trainer - didn't really understand the point. Now I do - she's a wonderful motivator, and keeps me moving!

A sound meal. I did not know Ihop had healthy foods. Kudos to them and to you for having a once-in-a-while treat.
