Subway...not quite the Points bargain it use to be!

I remember the old days...two years ago...when I use to get an 8 Point Oven Roasted Chicken Sub at Subway. Now, it's 11 Points. Either I use to count incorrectly or the points really have increased. 11 Points is huge for a 6 inch Oven Roasted Chicken Sub. With that being said, I had an 11 Point pita from Pita Pit today and it was definately worth it. Honestly, I could have eaten half of it (if I knew it would warm up ok) and been satisified. As a result of eating it all, I will be full until dinner.

My hardest hurdle with recommitting is trying to forget the old values (aka: The Good Ole Days) and embrace Points Plus. We do get more points now, right?

I don't mean to beat up on Subway. They use to be my "go to" place when I needed a quick bite to eat. With Points Plus, I'm making more meals at home and it's better for me.

On a positive note, it's Day 6 for me, and today is a common day that those who make "resolutions" or start diets begin to break. I just need to past the month and a half stage I'll be unbeatable.

    Hi everyone, this is my first post ever since I joined WW on January 01st this year, so I apologize if I'm a little off subject, but, I am allotted 37 PointsPlus, and I noticed that my fav 6 inch turkey sub on wheat is 7 PP. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but could I actually eat 5 of these sandwiches a day?? Hence 5 subs x 7 =35 PP. Of course I'll leave out the cheese and add extra veggies and peppers. Please, someone give me hope!!!! :)

    Anyone happen to know points value of the "scooped out" sub? I had a turkey with the inside of the wheat bread "scooped out" which is part of their diabetic menu, but didn't really know how to calculate tasted just about the same to me.

    @amyeliza77 - I found this link:, which shows the Oven Roasted Sub at 8 points for points plus and 6 points in previous versions of WW. Maybe that will cheer you up.

    I'm not a fan of turkey and ham, so the oven roasted sandwich is my staple. We don't have a Jack In the Box in the Midwest. That sounds amazing, though. Thanks for the link. I'm going to check it out!

    Amy, I going to continue use the nutrition info from the Subway website and keep the 8 points!!! It's funny how when you break things down, they come out more points sometimes. Have you ever tried turkey/ham at Subway? That's good as well, and what I used to eat many years ago when I first became a lifetime member. That and chicken fajita pitas at Jack in the Box!

    Shelley - Perhaps I'm adding everything up wrong. The bread is 6 points (5 if I go w/ plain white or wheat), chicken breast is 3 points, cheese is 1 points and low fat honey mustard is 1. That's where I get my 11. I would LOVE to be wrong!!! Subway is down the street from my house:) Lisa - What do you consider a bad-for-me lunch? I go out to a Mexican restaurant and get chips and salsa, rice and a chicken taco!

    Hmmm. I love the oven roasted chicken sandwich as well, and I used the nutrition info from Subway's website with the WW calculator, and I have 8 points for the 6 inch sandwich. And I always get it without cheese and with mustard on a 9 grain bread. I couldn't find it in the WW db, did you? I'm still counting it as 8 points, but maybe I've missed something?

    they say it takes approx. 3 weeks for a "habit" to solidify... and after that it gets easier. Funny, today was the first day where I decided, oh what the heck, i am being good and not using all my points so i am going to go get a really bad-for-me lunch. But I tried to plan for it by only having fruit and vegetables at the other mealtimes.. we'll see how it pans out :) Good luck!
