The Skinny on Skinny Girl Cocktails

So if I didn't love Bethenny Frankel already, learning how many points are in her cocktails would have done the trick!

Who doesn't enjoy a nice cocktail after a long day? I know that all week I am really good and I save my points for Friday and Saturday nights. My Fiance treats me to dinner on the weekends and I have to make sure I have enough points. The hardest part for me was figuring out if I want to eat a lighter meal and have an extra cocktail or not have a cocktail and enjoy a fantastic burger. Sitting at my desk, I asked myself, "Weight Watchers should come up with a low point cocktail." That was when the light bulb went off and I did some research on Skinny Girl Cocktails!

Did you know?
A Skinny Girl Margarita has 5 point for every 5oz? It sounds too good to be true, right? Well do if you do the math this is how it breaks down.

In a 750ml bottle of SKM, there are only 3oz of tequilla in the whole bottle. That breaks town to .5 oz per 5oz of the drink. That being said, if 1 oz of tequilla is 4 points, then .5 and oz is 2. That is a 2 point drink! Using the same math, vodka cocktails are 2 points and the wines are 2pts as well! Naturally the sangria will be more because it has a higher carb and sugar content. CORRECTION: Sangria is 4pts!

Go get your skinny on girls and enjoy your weekends....Guilt-free!

Hi everyone, I have been trying to figure out what the Skinny Girl White Wine points were for a couple years. I have the new bar scan feature and scanned the wine. According to WW it is 3 points per 5 ounce serving. Just thought I would share! Enjoy.

Amber has the calculation exactly correct. So, vodka by itself, with her calculation is 4 pp for a 1 1/2 oz shot (minus any mixers) just like the PP calculator states. Thanks Amber for helping me figure out how to calcualate this myself, and understand it!

According to Hungry Girl, this is how the Points are calculated... http://www.hungry-girl.com/askhg/show/2025 An alternative that I've liked to vodka, for cocktail lovers: http://www.trytyku.com/citrusliqueur.html It's a bit more expensive, but yummy.

So the bottom line is if you are choosing between the Skinny Girl Vodka and a standard brand vodka, the points are the same? I realize the mixed drinks that she sells pre-mixed in the bottle are lower calorie than one a bartender will make you. Glad they are out there for the moments I crave something other than vodka and soda water.

Someone else posted a formula for how to calculate PP for alcohol in another thread. It's based on using alcohol grams in place of fat grams. So Skinny Girl Vodkas are 12.7% alcohol by volume x 750 mL bottle x .789= 75 grams alcohol/ bottle The 75 alcohol grams are counted as "fat" in the tracker and comes out to 19 PP per 750 mL bottle, so figuring 2oz shots (I pour heavy and hate math), that comes out 2PP! Hope that helps!

Just calculated the points for 5 oz of Skinny Girl white wine. It's 4 points plus. Not worth drinking this tasteless wine for a savings of 1 pt for 5 oz!!!

I'm confused too. Is it 1 pt per ounce for Skinny Girl margarita or 2 pts for 5 ounces? Really want to know because I too save my points for weekends and SGM has becme my weekday standby.

someone has to explain this to me: I have the Skinnygirl Margarita bottle in my hand and the nutrition information reads as follows: Per 1.5 oz - 37.5 calories, 1.43 carbs, 0.07 protein and 0 fat. If you enter that into the WW PP calculator, it comes up as zero.....hmm.

i'm a bit confused. At one point you said that 5oz is 5 PP and then you said 5oz is 2 PP. So, which one is it? And what is the amount of vodka cocktail, wine, and sangria you are using to calculate the PP value? Thanks!

OK everyone, here is an update. I edited my post with an explanation and correction. To clarify, if you break down the alcohol content per pour, you are looking at 2 point drinks. I would also like to remind all the readers that if anyone is looking to get obliterated, Skinny Girl Cocktails are not the best option (there isn't a high alcohol content in the drinks).
