Who else wants homemade dinners? We do.
We grew up in homes with lots of kids. Hey, it was the 1950s! My parents had six children. I was number 4. Her parents had six children. She was (and will always be!) number 1!
Our moms were not gourmet cooks. Taught by their mothers and grandmothers and from cookbook and the school of trial and error, they put plenty of good food on the table from the start.
Our tastes were shaped by what they served, garnished by their love in making the meals. We've kept those familial tastes going with handed-down recipes, but we've also added many new ones along the way.
Here's a meal we had last night at our son's, while we were with our granddaughter for the day. Not only do we provide childcare, we bring dinner! Son and daughter-in-law are glad of that.
Beloved wife Christine fixed this dinner at home on Sunday evening and had it ready to take with us on Monday morning. So all she had to do was heat it up and voila we ate like kings and queens.
Chicken breast with bbq sauce, mixed veggies, shredded potato balls in light breading with a little cheese sauce, and a beverage of choice. I had nonfat milk.
