Weight Watchers Push Notifications

Friday, March 07, 2014

Weight Watchers now comes with even more encouragement! If you use our great Tracking app on iOS or Android, you can now turn on push notifications that look at your tracking habits and give you a little nudge if your Tracker’s starting to look a little… lean.

How are these different from the existing reminders in the Tracker app? Well, those are reminders to track breakfast, lunch or dinner that you set yourself to pop up at certain times. These new alerts are based on your actual behavior, so they’ll only pop up when you need them the most! (Don’t worry, the existing reminders are still available, and you can still set up custom ones, too.)

We’re rolling these smart alerts out a few thousand at a time, so you might not be able to get ‘em yet. When it's available to you, you will get a push notification on your smartphone. Just "accept" push notifications from Weight Watchers.

You are always in control! If you wish to turn some or all of these off, or turn them back on, there are several ways you can go about it:
a. Where you typically manage apps from your smartphone's main settings.
b. In the Weight Watchers Mobile category Reminders in the app's own settings.
c. Login to WeightWatchers.com via Mac or PC. In Account Settings you can manage notifications under the Communication Center category (they will appear there only after you opt in on your smartphone).

As ever, we welcome your feedback!

The Mobile Team

I haven't either. I found that on my phone if I put my finger on the notice and keep it there, it will scroll through the entire message, but I can't see it if I click it. It goes away. Needs to be more user friend

The iPad app is terrible. Why doesn't it have the same look as the computer? It looks like the iPhone just magnified, and functions just as poorly.

Simple Start app updates

Wednesday, January 08, 2014

We hope you’ve been digging our new Simple Start app! We've had some great feedback from you so far, and we’re excited to tell you that we’ve made a few quick updates in response! The updated app is now available for iPhone and Android.

What's new:
- Vegetarian meals are easier to find. Just look for the V icon at the top right corner of the meals to see the ones especially for you!

-You can keep closer tabs on the details. Lots of you wanted to track all of the meals, snacks and indulgences in the app, so now you can. And if you make your own Simple Start meals, you can track those too.

-Uncomfortable in the kitchen? We’ve added recommended portion sizes for a single plate and the appropriate cook times/temperatures. If you’re feeding a family or friends, just multiply accordingly.

- We’ve added more items to the My Meals selection, including fish, hot sauce and ketchup.

As always, we love to hear from you, and we hope these updates prove how valuable your feedback is! Keep it coming!
-The Weight Watchers Digital Team
