You don't understand they are not cutting WW out of it. It is the Transformation Nation time period they are talking about. This was only for a limited time they were doing this and it was the weight only lost during this time. They were not going to give the million dollars to someone who lost weight prior.

Weight Watchers Community Challenges are getting a makeover!

Monday, May 07, 2012

Post Image On May 22nd, our current Community Challenge functionality will retire. Don’t worry though; you won’t miss it for long! On that very same day, we are launching a whole new Challenge section that will help motivate you to achieve your weight and activity goals.

What does this mean for current challenges?

Well, to make room for the new ones, we have to remove the old ones. If you are a Challenge owner or you participate in a Challenge today, we ask you to do the following steps:
  1. Save any photos you may have posted to the Challenge wall.
  2. Become Community Friends with other participants in your Challenges. That way, you can invite them to participate in your new Challenges.
  3. Spread the word throughout the Community. Let other participants know through discussions and wall posts that there is a new Challenge plan.
Believe us when we tell you that we would not ask you to do these tasks for nothing. On launch day, there will be great new features coming your way that we know you will love.

What can you expect?
  • Weight Tracker and Activity Tracker challenges that connect to the Plan Manager when subscribers check into their Challenge
  • Options to compete in teams or against other individuals
  • Top ranking scoreboards, so you can see who’s in the lead
  • A new Winners Circle where your profile picture can display once you reach the Challenge goal
  • A chance to share your progress to your Community Profile page or to other social networks like Facebook and Twitter
Get ready! This is just another great way to help get you to your goals.

Believe me, the program does work! Track and get some exercise. Also, don't be afraid to use at least 1/2 of your 49 extra points. You will more than likely do better by using some. I am speaking from experience! good luck.

Just read Weight Loss Boss. The book is outstanding! Humorous, uplifting, honest, and shows the human side of the mental challenges around weight loss. I highly recommend this book! (I am a male WW member who lost 110 lbs and it took me 6 years to become Lifetime.)

Post Image For working out, that is… Why, you may ask? Well, Weight Watchers is teaming up with Jennifer Cohen, our new fitness guru. You may recognize her from Weight Watchers Magazine or from the back of the Weight Watchers Weekly. And now, she has even more to offer! We encourage you to take full advantage of her workouts, tips, videos and more. She’s a true expert, and might just be the answer to fitting exercise into your hectic schedule.

You can purchase them in the meeting room or if you are an online subscriber, you can get them in the Weight Watchers Online store.

When you get a chance, check out Jennifer’s Fitness 411 column. She provides you with answers to your thoughtful questions about exercise. Read her responses on achieving better balance or whether or not to work out on an empty stomach. Need ideas on how to squeeze in a quick workout? Visit the Fit in a Minute series, where she demonstrates quick and easy wins that can be done at the grocery store, in a parking lot, or by using a park bench.

I agree with Ruth on both counts. These are really good DVDs with enough options to keep it interesting & challenging, but it is hard to track the activity without WW including it in AP search options.

How much is too much at the restaurant?

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Post Image We all know that eating out can be challenging, especially when you’re trying to be soooo good and soooo diligent with your weight-loss plan! It doesn’t help when your best-laid plans are thrown into confusion when the waiter hands you a plate as big as a bicycle wheel and a burrito the size of a toddler.

However, we also know that the great thing about the Weight Watchers program is that you can eat out and still lose weight, as we’ve got plenty of tools to help you navigate the portion minefield. We don’t expect you to keep your Easy Measure measuring cups in your back pocket (though, kudos to you if you do!), but we do want you to know when a portion is totally out of control. Check out the new Portion Estimator where we show you how to use your hands to help you right there in the restaurant. Also included are little tips and tricks that will help you see your plate of food for what it really is — whether friend or foe. Perfect the art of eating out guilt-free, without having to whip out your measuring utensils on a Saturday night out!
